Compressed air transforms trucker NZ human balloon

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A New Zealand truck driver said he blew like a balloon when he fell on the erection of a compressed air hose which pierced his buttocks and air in his 100-pound body forced a square inch.

Steven McCormack stood on the foot plate truck Saturday, when he slipped and fell, breaking a compressed air hose a reservoir of air powered brakes of the truck.

He fell hard on the brass fitting, pierced his left buttock, which began pumping air into his body.

"I felt the rush of air into my body and I felt like he was going to explode my foot," he told local media from his hospital bed in the town of Whakatane, on the coast of the North Island.

"I explode like a soccer ball," he said. "I had no choice but just to lay eggs, explode like a balloon."

McCormack colleagues hear her screams and ran him, quickly releasing a safety valve to stop the flow of air, said Robbie Petersen, co-owner of the trucking company.

He was transported to the hospital with swelling terrible and fluid in a lung. Doctors, said the air had separated from muscle fat in the body of McCormack, but had not signed his blood.

McCormack, 48, said his skin felt "like a pork roast"-Crackle outside but soft below. "."
