LAGOS, Nigeria - an international group of human rights said at least 800 people killed in violence linked to elections across northern Nigeria.

Authorities had already estimated that at least 500 were killed, but had hesitated to release an official toll for fear of retaliatory violence cause.
The predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria demonstrators took to the streets as results showed the winner was President Goodluck Jonathan - a Southern Christian.
Many residents of the North believes that someone from their region should be the next leader after the death of Muslim President in the Office.
