Passenger jet makes emergency landing in Israel

Jerusalem - Israeli rescue services said an El Al jet with 260 passengers and infirm of landing safely made an emergency landing at the international airport of Israel.

Zaki Heller rescue services spokesman, said the jet made a landing successfully at dawn Monday as dozens of medical teams that stood and local hospitals were put on alert.

Earlier, media have reported that the Boeing 777 had been en route to Newark, New Jersey, when the problem was discovered and he was forced to back up. The spilled jet fuel in the Mediterranean for landing.

Heller said that more than 70 rescue teams were waiting at the airport outside Tel Aviv, where a State of emergency was declared.
