Moscow (Reuters) - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russia, said Sunday that NATO could be targeting leader Mu'ammar al-Gaddafi and his family, after Libyan officials said his youngest son and three grandchildren were killed in an air attack.
The Russia was a candid criticism of the intervention of the Western military alliance in Libya.
Member of the Parliament earlier, Russian Konstantin Kosachev told the Interfax news agency the attack was proof the coalition was not protect civilians, as mandated by the United Nations.
"We have serious doubts as to statements by the coalition members of the Libya attacks are not aimed at eliminating physically Gaddafi and his family", the Ministry said in a statement.
NATO denied targeting Gaddafi or his family on the evening of Saturday the bomb but said attack he launched air strikes on military targets. Libyan officials said that there was an "assassination attempt".
The Libyan Government spokesman Mussa Ibrahim said younger son of Gaddafi Saif al-Arab, 29, was killed in the attack with three grandchildren of Gaddafi.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russia resumed its advocacy of the week last for an immediate ceasefire and the "beginning of a political settlement without any preconditions."
She added "Moscow deals with reports on civilian casualties with growing concern,".
Libyan rebels and NATO dismissed Kadhafi offer for a ceasefire, saying that it was not credible.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has criticized Western countries, enforce a no-fly zone on the Libya and said that they exceeded the limits of a resolution of the Security Council of the United Nations to protect civilians.
The Russia holds veto power as a permanent member of the Security Council, but had abstained in March in a vote on a resolution authorizing the force to protect civilians.
