Cate Blanchett will star in Gross und Klein by German playwright, winners of Botho Strauss Oscar Cate Blanchett and Juliette Binoche lead the line-up for the Barbican 30 anniversary next year.Blanchett will star of Botho Strauss play Gross und Klein, in January, while Binoche will appear in the language French play Miss Julie, in September.
Among the other events will be largest exhibition in the Bauhaus of the United Kingdom in the 1940s.
The Barbican said its "international events" said "in the heart if London 2012" Festival.
This summer festival is the highlight of the London Cultural Olympiad program.
"International time".Bauhaus: Art as life exhibition will include works by artists who attended the German school of modern art, which was founded by Walter Gropius in 1919.
It will feature Paul Klee, Marcel Breuer, Anni Albers and works of Mies van der Rohe.Barbican program will include Theatre, art, architecture, design, film, music, Opera and dance.
Barbican management director Sir Nicholas Kenyon said that there would be "something for all the world".
"In 2012 London welcomes the world for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, and the Barbican will be at the forefront of this international time with an extraordinary variety of large cultural experiences for all," he added.
Other highlights will include the first UK, in may, Robert Wilson and Philip Glass' work 1976 Einstein on the Beach, an opera in four acts.
Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, will return in the final at the Barbican London 2012 Festival celebrations, following their residence last year.
They will perform with trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and Simon Rattle, who will lead the Orchestra in residence at the Barbican, London Symphony Orchestra.
