Body of Iran rules Ahmadinejad cannot be custodian of oil (AP)

Tehran - at a glance costs constitutional watchdog body the embattled Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iran held that the President cannot serve as the guardian of the country oil Minister.

The unofficial Fars News Agency, said that the Council of guardians has decided that it is illegal to Ahmadinejad to occupy the post of Minister of oil of concierge.

Ahmadinejad rejected oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi last week as part of a restructuring of the Cabinet in which the Government must merge eight ministries.

In a report released Friday, Fars said that the President must appoint a caretaker oil Minister, not himself.

The decision comes after a senior Iranian Ahmadinejad said official will participate at the next OPEC meeting in Vienna, in his capacity as the guardian of the country oil Minister.
