Bombardier Taliban attacks vehicles us in Pakistan


PESHAWAR, Pakistan - A Taliban suicide bomber dented his motorcycle in an armoured vehicle taking responsible American in the US Northwest of Pakistan Consulate, Friday, in a strike, said militants was in contrast to the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

The strike was the first on the West since the May 2 raid by American commandos on the hiding place of Osama bin Laden in a town in the army about three hours from Peshawar.


The Pakistani Taliban, a group allied to al-Qaeda behind scores of attacks in recent years, claimed responsibility.


"We say to the Americans and NATO, which we will carry out more deadly attacks and we can do," spokesman Taliban Ahsanullah Ahsan said in a telephone call from an undisclosed location. "We had warned that we will be to avenge the martyrdom of Osama.".


The Americans were traveling in two cars at home for the building of the Consulate strongly protected when the bomber on a motorcycle struck a vehicle, said the spokesman of the Embassy of the United States Alberto Rodriguez. Americans for the car of success were taken away from the scene in the second vehicle. The most serious injury was a broken hand, he said.


Initial police reports Pakistani account contradicted Rodriguez by suggesting it was a car bomb and made no mention of a suicide attacker. But police were still investigating.


Rodriguez refused to say what the Americans held job. The Consulate is home to diplomats, security agents and - it is widely accepted - personal CIA hunting al-Qaeda and associated groups. The building of the Consulate and a former top officer have been attacked in the past.


Peshawar is located just outside the tribal areas of Pakistan, where the Taliban and al-Qaida have bases.


The city has seen many of the suicide and other bombings that marked Pakistan over the past five years, the vast majority against the Pakistani Government and security force targets. Foreigners in Pakistan have also been taken to target but not nearly as much.


Last week, the Pakistani Taliban has killed more than 80 recruits Pakistani border paramilitary force in double attacks suicide near Peshawar. They said that these explosions were also to avenge the death of bin Laden.

In August 2008, Lynne Tracy, then the top diplomat of U.S. Consulate, survived a gun attack on his armored vehicle. In April last year, activists used car bombs and grenades to strike the Consulate, killing eight people. None of the dead were American citizens, but several of security guards working for the Consulate.


U.S. raid that killed the bin Ladens in Abbottabad seriously damaged Pakistan-US relations.


Pakistan is angry, that it was not warned in advance that the SEAL team would be the storm consisting of Osama bin Laden and he had no idea that in the brain of terror was hiding it insists.
