SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - the ex-wife of a drug deemed Caribbean pivot admitted money laundering for network traffic assumed by her former husband.
Leavey Nin Batista pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with prosecutors the Dominican Republic Monday. The terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
Spain extradited last month.
Ex-husband of Batista is Jose Figueroa Agosto. He was captured year last in Puerto Rico, after having spent a decade on the run while it would have been shipping Colombian cocaine to the U.S. mainland. Now, he is imprisoned in Dominican Republic.
Prosecutors have charged eight others of laundering money for him.
