Osama bin Laden cache battlefield of video games

SAN FRANCISCO- Images of the Pakistani compound where Osama bin Laden made his final stand was transformed into a field of battle of video games.


A map of software named fy_abbottabad in reference to the city where an American military team killed the notorious Al-Qaeda leader in a raid on May 2 was available Monday as a parameter to play the game "Counter-strike." computer online


The map program described as a creation by "fletch" had been downloaded more than 6 400 times of gamebanana.com Web site late Monday.


The parameter is a virtual version of the compound where bin Laden was killed in the raid by the US Navy SEALs, but not step features interior of buildings. Players fight it out in the field of the enclosure.


Fletch dismissed critics online that the bin Ladens slaying was too soft to make light in a video game.


"What many people seem to understand it is that the only thing that this map has in common with Osama is location,"fletch."said in a blog at gamebanana.com"


"I do not see how people think that it is in bad taste, but honestly that if that is your opinion you can protest the entire game (and many others).


"Counter-strike" games created by game of people focus on the State of Washington Valve Software online as terrorists or members groups counter-terrorism with "maps" for missions such as assassinations or the rescue of the hostages.


Fletch said the map made available was a temporary creation and the "substantial update" is nearly complete.


"I find much better than this version (fy_)," wrote Fletch.
