Elmar Weisser, 47, beat 160 participants at the price with his elaborate sculptures hair from the face of a moose.
This is the third time, M. Weisser became champion.
In 2005, he won with a beard of style in the shape of the door with a representation of London Bridge and Brandenberg in Berlin in 2007.
He said he began to prepare its creation for the event in Trondheim, at 7 p.m., with the help of his sister.
"When my beard is not style, he descends to my waist size." "It's kind of fold," he told the AFP news agency.
The world beard and Moustache Championship has been run every two years since 1995 and its organizers, saying that it is "the first event in the international sport of bearding".
Participants from around the world compete in 14 categories, including natural goatee, favourite freestyle, Hungarian moustache and Imperial partial beard.
Organizers say that the field has traditionally been dominated by Europeans, but that the United States, which hosted the event twice, are quickly becoming "the new facial hair super world power."
