Police station hits explosion in Peshawar in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - an explosion seriously damaged big a police Wednesday of Pakistan post volatile city of Peshawar, near the Afghan border, injuring several people and causing damage, police said.


Police said that the explosion of dawn flattened except to the police station. Local television, said 10 people were injured.


Residents, said the explosion irritated - windows throughout the city. Television showed police and troops cordoning off of the affected district.


The incident occurred at about 1 km (a half mile) from the American Consulate and in the same neighbourhood where a car bomb exploded the week as a convoy of U.S. Consulate last passed by. A man was killed and about a dozen people were injured, including two U.S. nationals.


The Pakistani Taliban said that he realized that the assault, the first attack against foreigners since an American team of commando killed Chief of al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden earlier this month.
