US sanctions firms of negotiation of the Iran

 Iran insists on its nuclear program is peaceful in purpose The US imposed sanctions against seven foreign companies that trade with the Iran in violation of a ban on existing USA.

Venezuela, Venezuela de Petroleos (PDVSA) State oil company, is among those affected by the measures.


Other companies include undertakings established in the United Arab Emirates United, Israel, Singapore, Monaco and Jersey.


A U.S. official said that the sanctions would add "additional pressure" on the Iran to stop the United States and others believe is a nuclear weapons program.


The companies involved include tanker Pacific de Singapore, Ofer brothers group Israel, Associated Shipbroking of Monaco, Petrochemical Company Jersey International Commercial and Iran, the oyster Royal of the United Arab Emirates Arab and fast ship, the United Arab Emirates United and the Iran.


"All these companies have engaged in activities related to the supply of petroleum products refined in the Iran, including the direct supply of gasoline and related products," said the Secretary of State James Steinberg.


"Illicit trade".


Mr. Steinberg said that sanctions were adapted to target each individual company but, in General, commercial companies with the United States would be stopped.

PDVSA, for example, will be prohibited from any US Government contracts, financing the import-export and the export permits for sensitive technologies.

The company and its subsidiaries, will, however, be allowed to continue to sell the oil to the United States.


The State Department, said that the company had delivered at least two shipments of refined petroleum products worth some $50 m (£ 31 m) in Iran between December 2010 and March 2011.


Simultaneously, the US administration has imposed sanctions distinct on more than 15 people and businesses in China, the Iran, the Korea of the North, Syria and elsewhere.

It said that sanctions are imposed for what it said was unlawful trade in missiles and weapons of mass destruction technologies.

These companies affected by this series of sanctions will be prevented from all U.S. Government contracts and us assistance, forbidden to buy U.S. defense articles and refuse to permit to sell for a period of two years.


On Tuesday, the UN Atomic Agency said that Member States had given fresh information, alleging that the Iran has worked secretly on the development of nuclear weapons.
